HVAC Service Manager

Service Manager Job Description and Duties
  1. Supervise and train staff who install, repair and maintain heating and air conditioning systems in residences and commercial buildings.
  2. Install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation and cooling units for residential and commercial customers.
  3. Diagnose, repair and install mechanical and electrical components of these systems.
  4. Travel to job site for install/service and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated with the customer or contractor.
  5. Available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.
  6. Great Customer service skills. Ability to interact with contractors and home owners, collect money and relay information clearly.
  7. Maintain proper stock of parts, tools and safety equipment.
  8. Understand company pricing and generate appropriate customer invoice at job site using cool front. Electronically process credit card payments at the time of service.  Obtain customer signature at completion of the job and obtain customer information including email address.
  9. Complete work orders on job site and obtain customer signature at completion of job and collect payment.
  10. Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number and take necessary pictures to document information.
  11. Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain replacement parts, calibrate systems to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what needs to be corrected.
  12. Participate and incorporate company training on latest industry technologies.
  13. Identify potential opportunities for additional business i.e.: newer systems, service contracts and additional services or recommendations.
SKILLS:
  1. Two plus years’ experience in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting diverse HVAC service issues. (including electrical experience)
  2. Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  3. Excellent customer service with a desire to exceed customer’s expectations.
  4. Ability to work independently and timely to make sure the job is done correctly the first time.
  5. Have good communication skills with the office staff, service technicians and clients.
  6. Technical knowledge of low voltage controls.
