Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

Job Duties

  • Trouble shoot and repair all types of equipment
  • Operate equipment to diagnose problems, inspect equipment for defects
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozer etc. Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required
  • Ability to work through unexpected equipment failure situations
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and manuals
  • Minimal welding
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Qualities

  • Technical degree or certification a plus
  • MSHA
  • Positive attitude and the ability to set goals and accomplish them
  • The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training
  • Solid written and verbal communication skill
  • Class A or B CDL not required but willing to obtain

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 year of’ experience working with diesel engines and heavy duty trucks
  • Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
  • A knowledge of construction equipment maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, gasoline and record keeping
  • Must have your own set of general tools
  • Use computers for web based training and work order system
  • Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions
  • Clean driving record
